Our Ghan adventure started from the moment we stepped out of our Uber at Adelaide Parklands Station, Keswick. In a flash one of The Ghan’s friendly crew grabbed our luggage and escorted us to check-in. My husband, Randall and I love train travel, and The Ghan has long been on our “bucket list”. Finally it was all about to start. This is one of the World’s Great Train Journeys and it’s right here on our doorstep. There is a real sense of adventure and excitement as you board the train knowing you are at the very beginning of a three

My recent Three Capes Walk in Tasmania started a year ago over a cup of coffee. A friend had recently returned from doing the walk on Tassie’s South East Coast. Her photos were amazing, her enthusiasm infectious! In a heartbeat I had purchased my first ever pair of hiking boots and I was heading into the Adelaide Hills to get “walk fit” and to break in my boots. Fast forward to March this year and I’m on my way with thirteen other like-minded girls to do the Three Capes Track. We booked with the Tasmanian Walking Company, opting for the

Nestled in the epicentre of Australia’s Spa Country, Daylesford, Victoria offers an amazing multitude of cultural and nature experiences. From Adelaide, Daylesford is a comfortable eight hour drive, or a one hour drive from Melbourne Airport. From the moment we arrived I fell in love with this quaint, boutique town. The main street, Vincent Street, is lined with gorgeous cafes, homeware stores, galleries and fashion boutiques. Elegant Victorian homes and gardens throughout the town are the legacy of the goldrush of the 1850’s. Our accommodation, the delightful Haiku cottage, was within easy walking distance to the Vincent Street shops and

Given the choice between flying or taking a train, I’ll always take the train option. Especially with recent news stories of long delays at airports and lost luggage, it was a very easy decision to catch the Overland to Melbourne to visit my son on Mother’s Day. The Overland train timetable These days, it’s a daytime journey and it runs twice weekly from Adelaide on Sundays and Thursdays. Right on eight o’clock, my train pulled out from the Adelaide Parklands Terminal, and I settled back into my very comfortable seat for the next nine hours. It was absolutely glorious as
