In an inspiring collaboration with Guildhouse — South Australia’s leading organisation for artists, designers and makers — Jurlique: 40 Years of Nature, Nurture and Art will launch on 2 August, transforming the picturesque property into a curated exhibition space. Featuring the works of local artists Shirley Jianzhen Wu, Samuel Mulcahy and Tim Shaw, the exhibition offers a creative response to the land, seasons and story of Jurlique.
Curated by Guildhouse, a proudly artist-led organisation with a 59-year legacy of championing South Australian creatives, the exhibition reflects the shared values of both partners: a deep respect for nature, craftsmanship, and community.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Jurlique to present this stunning new exhibition at Jurlique Farm, reflecting art and the natural world, with deep South Australian roots,” says Guildhouse CEO Beth Neate.
The collaboration between Guildhouse and Jurlique offers South Australian contemporary artists an exciting opportunity to respond to the landscape, at the same time as giving visitors to the farm a unique opportunity to connect meaningfully to place.
Founded in 1985 by German botanist Dr Jürgen Klein and his wife Ulrike, Jurlique has always been ahead of its time. Decades before “clean beauty” became a global buzzword, the Kleins were cultivating potent botanicals using biodynamic principles — a commitment that continues today on the brand’s Adelaide Hills farm.
“As we celebrate 40 years of Jurlique, it is a profound honour to showcase our farm to the public in partnership with Guildhouse for SALA Festival 2025,” says Loic Rethore, CEO of Jurlique International.
“Our founders, Ulrike and Jürgen Klein, envisioned a skincare brand that worked in harmony with nature — and this exhibition brings that vision to life in a new and meaningful way. Partnering with Guildhouse allows us to honour our shared values: nurturing creativity, celebrating South Australian talent, and deepening our connection to the land.”
What to expect

Visitors will be able to explore the stunning farm grounds, enjoy guided tours, and engage with artworks that reflect both the environment and the ethos of the Jurlique story.
Adding to the sensory experience, the exhibition coincides with the release of Jurlique’s Exclusive Edition Intense Rose collection, a luxurious reimagining of their signature Rose Hand Cream and Balancing Mist. For the first time in its history, the brand is also offering specially cultivated Intense Rose plants for sale at the on-site Farm Store — perfect for those who want to take home a living piece of Jurlique’s legacy.
Meet the artists
Shirley Jianzhen Wu
Adelaide-based and originally from Dongguan, China, Shirley Wu creates poetic, introspective work across sculpture, jewellery, video and installation. Her practice is deeply personal, exploring memory, migration and cultural identity. A graduate of UniSA, Wu has received multiple accolades and residencies, and her art often invites quiet contemplation and healing.
Samuel Mulcahy
Living and working in Clayton Bay, Mulcahy transforms discarded materials into imagined flora. His sculptural pieces, made from rusted steel, wire and salvaged domestic items, speak to environmental concerns and the hidden beauty in everyday detritus. His work reclaims both material and meaning, celebrating the overlooked and the forgotten.
Tim Shaw
An acclaimed glass artist, Shaw brings decades of experience and international acclaim to the exhibition. With roots in Cyprus and Yorkshire, and now calling the Adelaide Hills home, Shaw’s works combine glass, wood and found objects into bold, expressive statements. His technical skill is matched by a deep sensitivity to materials and form.
