Moonlight Cinema is turning 30! Kicking off from 27 November 2025, this milestone season promises a sparkling summer of new releases, family favourites, and Christmas classics beneath the starry sky. Tickets for November and December sessions of Moonlight Cinema presented by Youi are now available online.
Since its opening screening of Pulp Fiction in 1995, Moonlight Cinema has become a cherished summer tradition. From first dates to proposals, celebrity sightings like Margot Robbie and Chris Hemsworth, to pampered pooches enjoying their own bean bags, Moonlight Cinema offers an experience like no other. Over the past three decades, more than 5 million Australians have flocked to the outdoor screens, with Love Actually, Dirty Dancing, and 10 Things I Hate About You attracting the largest crowds.
The People’s Program: Your vote shapes the season
In celebration of its 30th birthday, Moonlight Cinema is inviting audiences to help choose the films for The People’s Program. The top-voted films in each city will screen from January through March, creating a shared summer celebration of three decades of movie magic.
Everyone who votes will receive 30% off General Admission tickets and be entered into the draw to win a Double Season Pass and other prizes. Nostalgic favourites, sing-alongs, and cult classics such as Shrek, Dirty Dancing, The Castle, and Jurassic Park are all in the running.
What’s on this Summer
The November and December program kicks off with festive cheer, family fun, and fresh releases. From 9–23 December, enjoy Christmas favourites including Love Actually, Elf, Home Alone, and The Holiday. Beyond the festive season, audiences can look forward to summer blockbusters like Wicked: For Good, a special preview of Eternity, Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, and family hits such as Zootopia 2, Moana 2, and How to Train Your Dragon.
