Adelaide Fringe 2026: The CAN Principle
Location
- 11 - 14 Mar 26
Screen and stage favourite Jonny Pasvolsky is heading to Adelaide Fringe with his sharp one-man comedy, The CAN Principle and we have tickets to give away.
Best known to Australian audiences for his role on McLeod’s Daughters, and internationally for appearances in Westworld and the film Mortdecai, Pasvolsky brings serious screen credentials and stand-up chops to the stage in this smart, biting satire.
Written and performed by Pasvolsky, The CAN Principle introduces us to Merv, a self-appointed life philosopher with a revolutionary product: sunshine in a can. He is almost certain he can deliver the sun itself, one can at a time. Almost.
Inspired by a childhood memory of cracking open a souvenir can labelled “Genuine Australian Sunshine” and finding absolutely nothing inside, the show skewers the modern self-improvement economy. Life coaches, miracle cures and self-help experts with big promises and bigger payment plans all come under the spotlight.
Beneath the satire is a personal thread, drawing on Pasvolsky’s experience migrating from South Africa to Australia and navigating cultural misunderstandings, sunburn scares and the awkward business of fitting in.
If you have ever been promised a total reinvention in six easy steps, this one is for you.
