The Alliance Française French Film Festival is back in South Australia with a vibrant program of contemporary French cinema across Adelaide and Victor Harbor.

Australia’s largest national film festival and the biggest celebration of French cinema outside of France has officially returned to South Australia for its 37th edition, with screenings now underway across Adelaide and regional locations.

Running from 18 March to 22 April 2026, the Alliance Française French Film Festival brings a rich program of contemporary French cinema to Palace Nova Eastend and Prospect Cinemas, with additional screenings at Victa Cinema, Victor Harbor from 25 March to 1 April.

Audiences can expect an exquisite selection of films spanning genres, from sparkling comedies and gripping dramas to tender romances and thought-provoking stories. The festival showcases the diversity and vitality of modern French filmmaking while offering a cinematic window into French culture, society and storytelling.

Held annually, the festival is set to present more than 450 screenings nationwide, reflecting Australia’s growing appetite for international cinema and cultural experiences. Many films premiere in Australia during the event, providing rare opportunities to see acclaimed works that may not receive wide theatrical release.
