Trophy Boys

Award-winning satire Trophy Boys arrives at the Space Theatre, Adelaide Festival Centre from 17 March to 2 April 2026, following sold-out national tours and major theatre awards.

Set on the biggest night of Melbourne’s academic calendar, the Grand Finale of a Year 12 interschool debating tournament, the story follows the all-boys team from elite St Imperium College as they prepare to demolish their rival school. But when unexpected circumstances leave them locked in a classroom during their one-hour prep window, they are forced to argue that “feminism has failed women”.

Performed by a female and non-binary cast in drag, this sharp, fast-moving satire examines adolescent masculinity, privilege and the egos of Australia’s future leaders. Playwright Emmanuelle Mattana’s debut work has earned critical acclaim, multiple awards and a devoted following, praised for its humour, insight and bold theatricality.
