One of South Australia’s most beloved motoring events is set to return, with the McLaren Vale Vintage & Classic celebrating its 20th anniversary on Sunday, 12 April.
More than 400 vehicles are expected to take part in this year’s iconic parade, transforming Main Road in McLaren Vale into a moving showcase of automotive history, from early vintage models through to modern luxury vehicles.
Among the highlights is one of the rarest cars in the country, a 1959 MG Magnette Series III sedan, the only known model in South Australia and one of just five in Australia. The vehicle will form part of a special display from the MG Car Club of South Australia, which is celebrating its 70th anniversary in 2026.

Across the wider lineup, spectators can expect an extraordinary mix of vehicles, including a 1915 Model T Ford Racer, a Riley Nine Tourer, a 1974 Excalibur Roadster, a Rolls Royce 25/30 and a Craig Lowndes Special Edition Commodore. Modern supercars will also feature, with vehicles from brands including Lamborghini, McLaren and Ferrari set to turn heads.
Event Chairman Nigel Williamson says the milestone event is a chance for the community to come together while showcasing the region.
“We’re incredibly proud to be celebrating 20 years of the McLaren Vale Vintage & Classic. It’s a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together and enjoy the incredible range of vehicles while showcasing the beauty of the region,” he says.
Following the grand parade, vehicles will disperse across a selection of wineries throughout McLaren Vale, where visitors can get up close to the cars while enjoying local wine, gourmet food and live music.
Participating venues include Lloyd Brothers, Kay Brothers, Hastwell & Lightfoot and Chalk Hill Wines, along with several other wineries across the region.
Kicking off the celebrations is the Classic Kickoff at Chalk Hill Wines on Saturday evening, featuring DJ Chris O’Grady of Subliminal Vinyl, local food and wine, classic car displays and a live auction and wine wall to raise funds for local causes.
With a full weekend of events and a milestone anniversary to celebrate, the McLaren Vale Vintage & Classic promises something for every car enthusiast and casual visitor alike.
