The Mid-Century Polish Poster exhibition PLAKAT is wrapping up Sunday 26 July at Galeria Grafika in Adelaide’s East End, marking the final opportunity for audiences to experience this rare collection.
The exhibition showcases works from the Polish School of Posters, a movement spanning the 1950s to 1980s, where artists working under Communist restrictions redefined poster design as an expressive art form. The collection includes over 1,000 original works, spanning film, theatre, circus and cultural posters, many of which have never before been publicly exhibited in Australia.
