An Introduction to The Garden 2023 Season

The Garden is back with a bang in 2023 with a lineup of world-class performances from cabaret to comedy, magic to music, there is something for everyone. Welcome back to The Garden!

The much anticipated return of The Garden 2023 is on the horizon with shows kicking off from February 16th through to the 19th of March. Expect the magical surrounds of the Adelaide East Park Lands to come alive once again with an array of world-class performances set to captivate all audiences young, and young at heart. From cabaret, to theatre, comedy, and magic, where do we even begin? Keep scrolling as we spill the tea on some stellar shows that can’t be missed.

The Party

An exciting NEW headline production making our must see shows for 2023 is The Party by creative geniuses Strut & Fret, the creators of Blanc de Blanc and LIMBO. This one’s for the social climbers, rich kids, gate crashers, and the hangers-on who love to Party. Become a part of a lavish on-stage celebration featuring international circus artists, music, extravagant costumes, and escalating energy within a theatre set like no other. This Party is a highly exclusive evening of the utmost sophistication with absolutely no rules, so what could possibly go wrong?

The suspense and nail-biting atmosphere created by the master Illusionist himself, Kevin Quantum in his show MOMENTUM is simply mind-blowing. The scientist turned magician, was trained by the best magicians in the business – Penn and Teller, so you can expect superior talent that will have you gasping with astonishment. Don’t miss the once in a lifetime magician at the top of his game, who has created award-winning productions at the biggest arts festival in the World, including The Edinburgh Fringe.

Tom Gleeson’s Hard Quiz: Live

Tom Gleeson takes the popular television spectacle to new levels with his Hard Quiz: Live show addition. The new dimension of Australia’s hardest quiz will be unlike anything you have seen before. Expect audience members to cop a roasting live on stage from the most brutal quizmaster since the inquisition. When Tom isn’t flaying contestants for your enjoyment he is also one of Australia’s funniest and most successful stand-up comedians who commands a theatre like no one else. This may possibly be Gleeson at his peak, so don’t miss the opportunity to see this firecracker bring you more laughs than you can count. 

Something for the music lovers to remember; experience an afternoon of free pre-show entertainment every Saturday with The Garden Sessions located in the Wine Bar. Featuring the South Australian Indigenous music series, along with concerts by some of this country’s true greats including The Audreys, The Whitlams Black Stump Band and many more. Perhaps dancing is more up your alley, the iconic Dulcie’s Bus, is set to come alive with a daytime Dulcie’s Vintage Disco on March 18.

We’ve just hit the tip of the iceberg when it comes to performance gold, so spread your wings and explore the variety of phenomenal performances available at your fingertips. 

Oh, and for the first time experience the premiere of The Gardens Friday afternoon program opening up the luxury to experience early access to some of the best shows without the crowds! The sessions will be run between 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm and will include shows like Best of The Edinburgh Fest, Smashed Arvo, and Kaleidoscope by Keith Courtney. Remember if there is a show that piques your interest get your tickets early to ensure your place at the table, as not all performances will be running for the entire season.
