Salon des Refusés 2024 at the David Roche Gallery

Known as the popular alternative to the esteemed and most respected Archibald and Wynne Prize, Salon des Refusés was initiated by the S.H. Ervin Gallery in NSW in 1992, featuring works not selected for the official exhibition, but rather those recognised for their quality, diversity and experimentation.

In 2024, 60 works have been selected – 38 portraits entered for the Archibald Prize and 22 landscapes from the Wynne Prize – and have recently been on display at the S.H. Ervin Gallery in Sydney before making their way to Adelaide.
