The Black Cat | Adelaide Fringe 2024
Want a dark and twisted tale? From his prison cell, a man charts a chain of fantastic events that lead to sinister crime and supernatural horror. Faithfully adapted from Edgar Allan Poe’s 1843 Gothic masterpiece, this chilling tale explores the inmost recesses and the outermost limits of the human soul.
Brought to life by Glendon Blazely’s original, evocative music and Mark Penzak’s compelling acting, both of whom are in their 60s and have been performing for over thirty years, this performance is rich in the sumptuous language and grotesque imagery that hallmarks the Gothic genre.
Coming off a series of festivals, this polished performance is a must see for lovers of excellent, entertaining theatre, macabre and Dark Romanticism.
“Stunningly conceived” “Terrific performance”“Blown away”“Brilliant!” – Audience reviews.
