A Cook’s Kitchen: Adelaide Central Market celebrates Tasting Australia

As the heart of Adelaide’s food culture, the Adelaide Central Market is once again stepping into the spotlight with A Cook’s Kitchen—a curated series of culinary experiences as part of Tasting Australia 2025, South Australia's premier food and beverage festival.

This May, the Market will be transformed into a vibrant theatre of flavours, offering free cooking demonstrations and interactive children’s classes, designed to delight food lovers of all ages. From celebrated chefs to rising culinary stars, the line-up highlights the very best of South Australian talent.

Hosted by well-known food identity Mandy Hall, the program begins on Friday 2 May and runs over two weekends, bringing market-goers up close with the flavours, personalities, and produce that define our state’s rich food landscape.

Friday 2 May – Presented by Mandy Hall (Community Kitchen – FREE)

  • 2:30pm – 3:15pm: Gabriele Pezzimenti, Executive Chef of Market & Meander, presents his refined take on contemporary cuisine.
  • 4pm – 4:45pm: Sharon Romeo, owner of Fino Vino, shares her passion for Italian-inspired dishes.
  • 5:30pm – 6:15pm: Terry Intarakhamhaeng, Executive Chef at Soi 38, showcases the vibrant and layered flavours of modern Thai cooking.
  • 7pm – 7:45pm: Clare Falzon, chef-owner of Staguni, offers a taste of her bold and innovative culinary style.

Saturday 3 May – Little Market Chefs: Tasting Australia Edition (Gouger Dining Area – $22 per child)

Hosted by Sprout Cooking, this hands-on experience is tailored for budding foodies:

  • 11:30am – 12:15pm

Friday 9 May – Presented by Mandy Hall (Community Kitchen – FREE)

  • 2:30pm – 3:15pm: Krish Dutt, Executive Chef at Tunki & Momoda, blends Peruvian and Asian influences in a bold, aromatic demonstration.
  • 4pm – 4:45pm: Chung Jae, the culinary mind behind Seoul Sisters, delves into the essence of Korean home cooking.
  • 6:30pm – 6:45pm: Genevieve Harris of OzHarvestSA shares a thoughtful zero-waste cooking demonstration, proving that sustainable can also mean delicious.

These events are a rare chance to meet the makers, sharpen your culinary skills, and savour the Market’s signature atmosphere—absolutely free.
