Seafood lovers, mark your calendars! The Adelaide Central Market is once again transforming into a hub of fresh flavours and vibrant tunes with the much-loved Seafood + Sounds, returning Friday 19 and Saturday 20 September 2025.

Back by popular demand, this two-day celebration of South Australian seafood brings together the best the Market has to offer – from street eats and seafood specials to live music, cooking demonstrations and, of course, the crowd-favourite Chilli Crab Shack.

A true standout of the weekend, the Chilli Crab Shack returns for two days only, dishing up mouth-watering Asian-style chilli crab made with Market produce and fresh SA blue swimmer crabs, thanks to the talented team at Sprout. It’s a fun, finger-licking feast – served with a generous crab bib and best enjoyed with a local wine and the upbeat energy of live music all around.

Pre-booking is essential for the Chilli Crab Shack, as it sells out every year. Don’t miss your chance to get cracking!

Across the Market, traders are joining in with special offers and signature seafood dishes. Highlights include:

  • A sizzling seafood barbecue at Si Sea
  • The cheeky ‘Shellie’ Never Never oyster shell martini at Fair Seafood
  • A warm, buttery lobster roll at Atlas
  • A classic seafood basket at Angelakis Bros. Seafood

The soundtrack to your Market stroll will be provided by local favourites Atlantic Street Band, Jazz in Cheek, Brian Ruiz and Leni – perfect for a relaxed day out, whether you’re grazing, sipping or simply soaking up the atmosphere.

And for those with grandkids in tow, the little ones can enjoy a free under-the-sea art workshop and face painting.

With a glass in hand, fresh seafood on the plate, and live jazz in the air, Seafood + Sounds is set to be the ultimate spring celebration at the Market – ideal for those who love good food, great music, and local produce.
