Marina Pier’s Umbrella Lights installation is delighting families once again, brightening up the popular dining precinct.
From now to mid-September, 14 umbrella-shaped light displays feature cool white lighting frames and glowing blue lights filling in as colour. The fifth year of Umbrella Lights brings with it dining offers, some revealed and others yet to be announced.

Marina Pier Marketing Coordinator Mathew Lavelle says winters at the pier bring heartwarming meals and cosy drinks among dining venues and local retail outlets.
“Winter evenings at Marina Pier are filled with sumptuous dining experiences, amplified by the beautiful Umbrella Lights display which adds a radiant ambience to the area,” Mathew says. “Our local business owners warmly welcome visitors to Marina Pier with their special offers and warm hospitality.”
Ellenika Ocean Grill leads the way in offers during the Umbrella Lights season, highlighting its hearty moussaka as part of a midweek deal. Every Wednesday, diners can enjoy a serve of moussaka for $20, a 50 per cent saving on regular pricing. Made fresh and served piping hot, it features layers of tender eggplant, potato, seasoned beef ragu and creamy béchamel sauce, perfectly paired with a glass of red wine. Ellenika also offers chef-made takeaway meals for $16.90, with orders over $100 eligible for free delivery, with a choice of traditional or vegetarian moussaka, or pastitsio, a traditional Greek baked pasta.
Luciano’s on the Marina continues to feature its refined Italian menu, while Sunset Bar is the place to be for catchups over drinks. Luciano’s has a pasta and wine lunchtime special for $35 on weekdays, and an Italian Table four-course menu option for lunch and dinner at $49 per person. From Sunday to Friday, guests can enjoy house-made focaccia drizzled with olive oil and balsamic, a shared entrée plate, and a choice of main before finishing with dessert.
For those more wine-minded, Seafire pairs with Glaetzer Wines for a six-course pairing showcasing newly released vintages on Thursday 27 August, priced at $160 a head. Sammy’s is offering a five-course dining experience with Mollydooker Wines on Friday 7 August from 6pm.
Tomiko Japanese Steak House has a teppanyaki lunch special, where diners can choose between steak, chicken or prawns served with chaham rice, with a choice of tap beer or house wine. Oyster Bar features live music on Fridays from 6pm to 9pm, and Sunday sessions from 3pm to 6pm, with cocktails and fresh oysters on offer.
For more seafood delights, head to Junipers on the Marina, where Wing It Wednesdays and Paella Thursdays ignite the senses. Diners can try the venue’s famous squid ink paella with a choice of house gin, beer or wine for $49, or enjoy chicken wings for $1 each on Wednesdays.
