Your must-read guide to Christmas in Rundle Mall

It’s not Christmas ‘til you visit Rundle Mall, which has the biggest and best range of gift ideas, enchanting decorations, dining destinations and magic moments to make a day of it this festive season.

With just two weeks ‘til Christmas, follow our tips on what to shop, eat, see and do to make the most of your trip to Rundle Mall.

Shop

With more than 700 stores, Rundle Mall has South Australia’s biggest range, best brands and exclusive flagships all in one place, and you can shop it all for longer and later with the Mall open until midnight on Thursday, 19 December, Friday, 20 December and Monday, 23 December.

If you need Kris Kringle inspiration, check out Have You Met Charlie? in Adelaide Arcade for all things unique, and gorgeous, or the state’s only Milligram stationery store at the eastern end of the Mall, which is brimming with designer pens, notebooks, diaries, bags and gifts.

Adelaide’s largest bookstore Dymocks has something for every reader with tens of thousands of titles on its shelves, upstairs in the old Regent Theatre.

For the kids and grandkids, you can’t go past Kidstuff and Games World in Gawler Place or Toy World in Myer Centre for LEGO, board games, plush toys, puzzles, and much more.

Eat

All that shopping is bound to work up an appetite. From food courts and cafes, to restaurants and rooftop bars – you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to dining options in Rundle Mall.

James Place, connecting Rundle Mall with Grenfell Street, has become a hub of delicious new eateries offering great spots for a coffee or bite to eat. Among them is Bottega Bandito, which has brought its cult sandos to the city – open early till 3pm daily.

If you want a great spot to take the kids or grandkids, DoughBalls on level 1of Rundle Place should be top of the list! Slinging their iconic twist on the classic pizza, it’s the perfect family spot for lunch and dinner seven days per week.

For something a little more formal, you can’t go past 2KW or Fishbank, both in the Rundle Mall Precinct– a stone’s throw from the shopping strip.

See

For FREE festive fun, you can’t go past The Santa Course. Kids, and kids at heart, will love finding the ten giant Santas scattered across the city – four of which are in the Mall. Scan the QR code at each Santa to help him finish his chores and go in the draw to win Santa’s Sleigh of Surprises’ Prize Pack!

From Friday 13 December, Rundle Mall’s 12 Days of Christmas offers a jam-packed calendar of entertainment daily until Christmas. Bob along to the Mall’s live music program City Sessions, or take in performances by the Salvation Army Christmas Band and Australian Girls Choir.

Do

Unlike anything else in South Australia, the entertainment precinct on level one of Rundle Place offers endless hours of fun for all ages with Hijinx Hotel, Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq and Strike Bowling. From challenge rooms and arcade games, to skill tests and ten pin bowling, you won’t be bored.

For late night play, and a hard drink, Ballers Clubhouse on Pulteney Street is a must-do. With classics like ping pong and pool, plus seven top-notch dart lanes and four neoshuffle tables loaded with tech wizardry, it’s the ultimate adults playground.

Also, part of the 12 Days of Christmas, kids will love writing a letter to Santa at Santa’s Rundle Mail Express, face painting or cheeky fun at Santa’s Elfie Booth. For the adults, Santa’s Spritz Bar is the ideal place to kick back and enjoy a drink – a reward for a busy day of shopping!
