Opened in June, by the team behind Bank Street Social, this stylish burger bar has already become a go-to for quality-conscious diners who appreciate good food done well – without the wait. Tucked into the corner of Bank and Hindley Streets, it offers a pared-back menu focused on delivering flavour-packed, made-to-order smash burgers in under five minutes.
Co-owner Simon Orders says the focus is firmly on quality over quantity.
“Every detail – from our house-made pickles to the signature sauce – has been dialled in, tested, and perfected for maximum flavour,” says Simon.
With just three burgers and a side of fries on the menu, Bank Street Burger takes the guesswork out of ordering. Everything is cooked fresh, using top-tier produce.
The hero ingredient? Premium Riverina Black Angus beef, which is ground on-site daily and smashed on a flat-top griddle to “create a crisp, caramelised crust and rich, umami-loaded bite”.
The menu includes:
- The Classic: double patty, American cheese, tomato, lettuce, and signature sauce
- The Original: the same double patty, this time with house pickles and sherry-glazed onions
- The Cheeseburger: a single patty with American cheese, fresh onion, ketchup and mustard – a nostalgic favourite done right
While the venue itself is compact, the design punches above its weight. Warm red marble, Tasmanian oak and deep burgundy zellige tiles add a touch of luxury that feels more boutique wine bar than burger bar. Most of the space is given over to the high-performance kitchen, but there’s a scattering of outdoor seats for those who prefer to sit and savour.
