Christmas has officially arrived at the Adelaide Central Market, and it’s the perfect time to savour every flavour, every experience and every moment.

With extended trading hours and nine consecutive days of pre-Christmas shopping, the Market is buzzing with festive energy — and filled with fresh local produce and traditional favourites arriving daily.

Adelaide Central Market General Manager Fabienne Reilly says, “It’s a great time to buy local with stone fruit, cherries, puddings, locally smoked hams, turkey and gifts for your loved ones. And of course, the best fresh SA seafood from our expert fishmongers.

When you walk through the Market, the energy is electric. It’s truly a unique experience and our knowledgeable traders are ready to help prepare for your Christmas.

Whether you need an affordable main course or a ready-to-serve platter, our traders are the true experts and here to make your Christmas stress free.

She adds that shopping is even more convenient this year, with the Market open from Sunday 21 to Tuesday 23 December until 7pm, and from 7am on Christmas Eve.

The Market’s fishmongers — Angelakis Bros, Fair Seafood and Cappo’s Fish Market — are gearing up for their busiest season. Local prawns, oysters and crayfish remain in high demand, and shoppers can expect top quality and great value.

Nothing beats walking out of the Market knowing you’ve secured the freshest catch and the best quality for your family’s table this year.

Alex Knoll from Angelakis Bros says, “Our local seafood remains high-quality, and we have great specials on our Christmas essentials, like King Prawns from Port Lincoln and Coffin Bay Oysters. My advice to customers is to get in early for specials and pre-order your premium seafood now.”
