Ondeen, the award-winning farm-to-table restaurant, cellar door and distillery in the Adelaide Hills, is reopening its doors following a Supreme Court hearing that has cleared the way for the business to resume operations.
The property was forced to close on Monday 3 August 2026. Court orders put in place this week now allow the venue to welcome guests once again, with the cellar door reopening this Sunday and the restaurant following mid next week.
Co-founder and Managing Director Deborah Kingsbury expressed relief at the outcome and gratitude for the community’s response during the closure.

“Our heartfelt thanks for the extraordinary support we have received, which has carried us through,” Kingsbury said. “From our wonderful team and staff, our suppliers, event bookings, brides and grooms to our huge network of family and friends, your support has been tremendous.”
She also made special mention of the property’s Highland cows, a beloved feature of the five-hectare estate.
“We are encouraging everyone to please come back in, book a table, support us and rebook your events. We would love to see our community visit us and connect back in with the spirit of Ondeen.”
A Hills destination to visit
Nestled just three minutes from Hahndorf and 25 minutes from Adelaide, Ondeen operates from a beautifully restored 1851 homestead. The property combines restaurant dining, wine tasting and a working distillery, all with a focus on local, seasonal produce and the people who grow and make it.

The venue’s philosophy centres on connection: to the land, to local artisans and producers, and to the traditions of the Adelaide Hills. The kitchen team works directly with regional suppliers, creating dishes that reflect both the integrity and the character of what South Australia produces.
Whether you visit for a long lunch, a wine tasting or an event, Ondeen offers a style of hospitality that feels both considered and relaxed. The property also maintains a commitment to sustainability and reducing waste.
