Running from 2–20 July, this self-guided event will take visitors on a 2km journey through a series of immersive light, sound and projection installations created by some of the most celebrated visual and sound artists from Australia and beyond. This is not just a walk in the park—it’s a voyage into parallel realms, lit with colour, creativity and wonder.
Among the featured artists are UK-based light sculptor Amelia Kosminsky, renowned for her prism-like illusions; Melbourne’s own Robin Fox, who redefines what lasers and sound can do; and Craig Walsh from Sydney, who brings trees to life with evocative, surreal projections. South Australians Chris Petridis, also Night Visions’ Associate Creative Director, and Jayden Sutherland of The Bakery Design Co. round out the stellar team, offering local flair with global reach.

“For our milestone fifth year, we wanted to headline the program with an after-dark adventure that not only takes visitors on an emotional and sensory journey but transports them into parallel realms,” say Illuminate Adelaide Co-founders and Creative Directors, Lee Cumberlidge and Rachael Azzopardi.
“We have brought together the unique talents of six visionary artists to create a series of immersive, ‘other worldly’ environments across the garden using thousands of lights, lasers, projections and sound. Tree canopies will be transformed into evocative living monuments, walkways will become atmospheric gateways pulsing with colour and sound, and the Bicentennial Conservatory will burst with an array of cutting-edge laser and sound technology.”
Set against the backdrop of one of Adelaide’s most iconic locations, Night Visions is the latest in a string of acclaimed installations to light up the Botanic Garden during Illuminate Adelaide, following on from Light Cycles, Resonate and the unforgettable Fire Gardens by France’s Compagnie Carabosse.
With highlights including the transformation of Ficus Avenue and the Bicentennial Conservatory, and an award-winning soundscape by Melbourne composer Jethro Woodward, this is an event designed to awaken the senses, spark conversation and inspire.
Lakeside dining experience
For those seeking something extra special, why not make a night of it? A unique lakeside dining experience will be available exclusively to Night Visions ticket holders every Friday to Sunday. Set at The Lodge, nestled between installations in the heart of the garden, the evening includes a bespoke menu curated just for Illuminate Adelaide guests.
