In a celebration of local talent and artisan skill, Adelaide’s Finest took home First Place across several prestigious baking categories, including:
- Sourdough
- Sourdough Baguette
- Light Rye Sourdough
- Ciabatta
- Croissant (also crowned Champion Product)
Adding to their award-winning legacy, the team at Pasadena’s in-store patisserie — the only one of its kind inside a supermarket in Australia — debuted a new creation: the Strawberry, Rhubarb and Lemon Cream Bow Tie Danish, which also won First Place.
This visually stunning Danish is a weekend-only treat, handcrafted by Head Pâtissier Tharindu and his skilled team. Their process is nothing short of meticulous: fresh produce is handpicked from Adelaide’s Finest, transformed into a silky coulis, and paired with a luscious lemon cream made from meringue, cream cheese, candied lemon, and zest.
The pastry itself is a labour of love — created from two doughs (one tinted red), layered with premium French butter and laminated to form 27 delicate layers. The dough is then cut, chilled, shaped into signature bow ties, and baked to golden perfection before being filled with vibrant fruit and lemon cream.
“The Bow Tie Danish is a true testament to traditional Viennoiserie technique and innovation,” says the team at Adelaide’s Finest.
Due to its time-intensive creation, the Bow Tie Danish is available weekends only, starting Saturday, October 4, exclusively at Adelaide’s Finest Pasadena. All other award-winning products, including the Best Croissant in Australia, are available daily at both Pasadena and Frewville locations.
