There’s something special about gathering around a long table with like-minded people, good food and art that sparks conversation. ILA Gallery is hosting an Art Salon lunch that brings all three together in support of one of Australia’s most significant wilderness areas.
On Saturday 10 October 2026, the gallery’s upstairs space in Adelaide’s West End will transform into a venue for connection and advocacy, with proceeds supporting the Bob Brown Foundation’s work to protect takayna, the ancient rainforest wilderness in northwest Tasmania.
Art for takayna
Takayna holds some of the oldest rainforest on Earth, home to ancient species and landscapes that have remained largely unchanged for millennia. The Bob Brown Foundation has been working to secure permanent protection for this irreplaceable wilderness, and this lunch offers a meaningful way to contribute to that effort.
The Art Salon format invites guests to engage with art in an intimate setting, where conversation flows as naturally as the wine. It’s a departure from the traditional gallery experience, offering a chance to connect with fellow guests who share an appreciation for both creativity and conservation.
The venue
ILA (Immersive Light and Art) has established itself as one of Adelaide’s most interesting contemporary art spaces. The gallery and studio occupy the first floor of a heritage building at 63 Light Square, in the heart of the West End precinct. The space is accessible by stairs or lift.
