After lifetimes of playing with their food and an immigration to Vietnam scuppered by Coronavirus, Salt Gang owners Lucy and Thomas settled in the Adelaide Hills in early 2020. As they used the down months to explore the region and the richness of the local food scene, they grew disillusioned and frustrated with the idea of going back to an office and spending so much time apart.
The duo are long term diehards for food traditions, the breaking of bread and the power of community. So, they decided to bring the dynamic flavours that enriched their lives in Melbourne and Hanoi to the Adelaide Hills.
Lucy and Thomas started out with a small stall at farmers markets, and soon found a following of taste-cravers and flavour-fans, and a place to share their creative drive. They say “the beating heart of Salt Gang is our love for creating and sharing simple transcendent pleasures – licking your plate, touching your food, feeding your loved ones.”
