Mini cocktails are having a moment, and West End laneway bar Hains & Co is leaning into it for Margarita Month. Throughout November, the Gilbert Place institution is serving the Split-a-Rita: one margarita poured into two mini coupes, at the same price as one.
The format is built for sharing. Couples, friends and dates can go halves on a single drink, or work through a selection of Little Ritas together instead of each committing to a full-sized cocktail.
The Little Ritas menu
Alongside the classic, spicy and Tommy’s margaritas, Hains & Co has put together three new variations for the month:
Berry Naughty Rita: A deep-red mix of Herradura Plata tequila, cassis, blackberry and lime, finished with a black salt rim. Fruity, tart and just naughty enough to live up to her name.
Mango No.5: Herradura Plata meets a house-made syrup of mango, fresh lime and fire tincture, with a black salt rim. A little bit of sweetness, a little bit of heat.
Gunner: Tequila, lime, agave and Hellfire Bitters on the rocks, with a house Tajín salt rim. A sharp, spicy little salute.
Go full-sized with your favourite, split one with your favourite person, or work your way through a shared selection of Little Ritas. The Split-a-Rita and Little Ritas menu is available all November at Hains & Co on Gilbert Place in the city.
