The Playford Tennis Centre has entered a new chapter, with award-winning academy Voyager Tennis officially taking over as facility operator from 6 July 2026. It marks the organisation’s first South Australian venue.
A joint investment by Voyager Tennis and the City of Playford has transformed the centre into one of the state’s most comprehensive racquet sports destinations, with upgrades designed to welcome players of all ages and abilities.
What’s new at the centre
The upgraded venue now features:
- 16 resurfaced hard tennis courts
- Eight dedicated pickleball courts
- A clubhouse and pro shop
- Free on-site parking
- Modern amenities
- Flexible court hire for individuals, schools, community groups and competitions
The centre will continue its tradition of hosting local, state and international tennis events.
Programs for every level
Voyager Tennis brings more than 13 years of experience delivering coaching, competitions and facility management across Sydney, Melbourne and Singapore. Their coaching team includes former professional players and college-level competitors who have developed players across every age group and ability level.
At Playford, the program lineup includes Hot Shots, junior coaching, adult coaching, private lessons, squad training, social competitions and tournaments. Dedicated pickleball coaching and social play sessions are also on offer.
“Whether someone is stepping onto the court for the first time, returning to the game after a break, or looking to develop their competitive tennis, we want Playford Tennis Centre to be a place where everyone feels welcome,” said Voyager Tennis Managing Director Ryan Henry.
Free coaching trials available
To celebrate the launch, Voyager Tennis is offering complimentary coaching trials across both tennis and pickleball programs. The sessions are open to children and adults at any experience level and provide a chance to meet the coaching team, explore the upgraded facilities and get a feel for the Voyager approach.
The Playford Tennis Club remains at the heart of the centre, with existing members continuing to enjoy full access alongside expanded programming.
“We’re incredibly excited to officially join the Playford community,” Henry said. “This is an outstanding facility with a proud history, and we’re looking forward to building on that by creating more opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to get involved in racquet sports.”
