Gerard McCabe Jewellers is celebrating 40 years in business with an event that promises to be unlike anything the family-owned jewellery house has done before. On Saturday 10 October, the Adelaide Arcade institution will take over 2KW’s rooftop for a two-hour ADL Fashion Week brunch pairing fine jewellery, premium sparkling wine and city skyline views.
The event brings together three South Australian names: Gerard McCabe Jewellers, 2KW and Adelaide Hills winery Deviation Road. Guests will move through four bespoke jewellery displays, each with its own character. The Muse, The Romantic, The Siren and The Icon feature pieces ranging from luminous diamonds and pearls to vivid pink gemstones and striking sapphire statement jewellery.
Each display is paired with a sparkling wine from Deviation Road, including the MV ‘Altair’ Sparkling Rosé, 2023 ‘Loftia’ Brut, 2022 ‘Southcote’ Blanc de Noirs and 2018 ‘Beltana’ Blanc de Blancs. Roaming brunch canapés, created by 2KW Head Chef Sam Christopher to complement each collection, round out the experience.
A different way to experience jewellery
Justin McCabe, Co-Managing Director of Gerard McCabe Jewellers, said the event was designed to move beyond the traditional showcase.
“Jewellery is often viewed from behind a showcase, but we wanted to create an experience that was immersive, interactive and worthy of ADL Fashion Week, and what better way to celebrate as we commemorate 40 years in business,” he said.
“ADL Fashion Week is about creativity, self-expression and exceptional design. We wanted to showcase jewellery through that lens and create something that allows people to connect with the craftsmanship and storytelling behind each piece.”
Guests will have the opportunity to try on pieces from the collections, with Gerard McCabe’s specialists sharing the stories behind the gemstones, designs and craftsmanship. Deviation Road will guide attendees through tasting notes and pairings.
Co-Managing Director Jessica McCabe-Moran said the four collections reflect the different facets of personal style.
“Whether guests are drawn to timeless elegance, feminine romance, bold statement pieces or remarkable high jewellery, each station explores a different expression of style and individuality, and the sparkling wines to match.”
A distinctly South Australian event
Simon Adami, General Manager of 2KW, said the rooftop venue was proud to host an experience with a distinctly South Australian feel.
“The combination of fashion, jewellery, hospitality and storytelling makes this a truly distinctive event and a fantastic addition to the ADL Fashion Week program.”
Roving models adorned in Gerard McCabe jewellery will bring the four jewellery personalities to life throughout the morning, with live DJ entertainment and sweeping city views completing the setting. Guests will also receive gift bags with vouchers and items from premium South Australian brands.
