Life Care’s award-winning Gaynes Park Suites receives international praise

Life Care’s Gaynes Park Suites has been internationally recognised, with the Joslin facility winning the 11th Asia Pacific Eldercare Innovation Award for Facility of the Year – Assisted Living.

The award recognises Life Care and its architectural partner Marchese Partners for their innovative approach to changing the way people age with Gaynes Park Suites, and their contribution to shaping the future of the ageing landscape.

Life Care was the only South Australian award winner and Gaynes Park Suites was also a finalist for the Ageing In Place and Active Ageing award categories.

The Facility of the Year – Assisted Living award recognises the ‘best facility that enables older adults who need some assistance with daily living to live as independently as possible’.

The awards were held in Singapore last week in conjunction with the World Ageing Festival and saw entrants from across Australia, New Zealand and Asia.

Opened in early 2021, the $22.5 million Gaynes Park Suites is a premium assisted living community in Joslin, in Adelaide’s eastern suburbs.

It features 41 single and two-bedroom apartments where residents maintain their independence, while receiving tailored levels of support depending on their individual needs.

It also features a five-star restaurant run by nationally acclaimed executive chef Bethany Finn, communal lounge areas, a library, cinema and events room, billiards and games room, a café, consulting rooms for visiting specialists and service providers, and landscaped gardens.

Life Care Chief Executive Officer Allen Candy said the award reflected the organisation’s commitment to innovation and international best practice.

“This award is confirmation we’ve realised our vision for Gaynes Park Suites, which was to set a new standard for seniors living and create a community that supports older people’s changing lifestyle and health needs,” he said.

“Together with our caring and committed staff, Gaynes Park Suites is enabling older people to live better, more independent and longer lives on their own terms.

“We are very proud of the recognition and look forward to supporting generations of older people to live fulfilling lives in our care.”
