What happens when Italy’s most celebrated grape varieties meet their Australian counterparts at the same table?
Burnside Village ambassador and acclaimed wine writer Nick Ryan answered that question at La Grande Tavola, an immersive food and wine masterclass hosted at Eccoci Ristorante on Wednesday 19 August.
The event paired a bespoke five-course degustation with a series of considered wine pairings. Each course will present an Italian wine from its grape variety’s home region alongside an Australian wine of that same grape, inviting guests to taste how place, climate and craft can transform a familiar variety into something entirely new.
