Across unique venues and 23 breathtaking 360° films, VR and interactive experiences, audiences of all ages can dive into stories that span our planet and beyond – from the mysterious depths of the ocean to the farthest reaches of the cosmos.
Step inside the spectacular Dome, where audiences lounge on beanbags and gaze up as 360° films unfold across the curved ceiling, surrounding you with awe inspiring visuals. With over 14 documentaries to explore, from giant cuttlefish filmed off South Australia’s coast to a Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon experience that washes over you with its visuals and legendary soundtrack.
VR experiences invite you to go further. Step inside Van Gogh’s swirling canvases in Monsieur Vincent and marvel at the marine giants of the Great Southern Reef Special in MEGAfauna.
Feel fully transported with Surround Sync VR, a first of its kind technology where virtual reality visuals and surround sound unite in perfect sync to place you right inside the action, soaring across the Antarctic wilderness, venturing beyond the Milky Way with Professor Brian Cox, or exploring the Kimberley alongside Luke Hemsworth.
Meanwhile, Interactive adventures invite you to become part of the experience. Explore Fire Escape, an interactive film inspired by Hitchcock’s world of tension and mystery. Join The Score: The Smartphone Orchestra in a live experience where you play a game on your phone, and your choices directly shape the music performed by the Adelaide Youth Orchestra.
Immersive Worlds brings global innovation and creativity in a program unlike any other. The program will run from 17 February to 22 March in Adelaide. A limited regional season will also take the Dome to Mount Gambier from 7-13 February and Whyalla from 27 March to 6 April, supported by the bome touring partner Adelaide University and the Drought Relief – Regional Event Fund.
