That’s Enrico

pizza on a plate.

Snack $8–$20, Pizza $26–$39, Feed Me $58

At That’s Enrico, flour technician and pizza master Enrico Sgarbossa showcases his craft using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Passionate about supporting local businesses and sustainable farming practices, he brings both integrity and skill to the table. Choose your dough: classic, thin and crispy, or gluten-free. But it’s not all pizza. There are snacks, a weekly pasta, salads and some great desserts. This is the real deal: everything is packed with flavour, and the Feed Me option offers great value.

Eccoci

A plate of seafood linguini.

Snacks and smaller $8–$45, Pasta and mains $36–$42

Eccoci at Burnside Village is a stylish Italian all-day bar and eatery. Pop in for a coffee or a vino, hold a business lunch or settle in for a long leisurely afternoon. The menu celebrates traditional Italian flavours updated with a modern touch. Be sure you try one (or more) of the fresh pasta dishes. My favourite is the Spaghetti alla Scoglio. Take a seat inside or grab a table in the mall and watch the shoppers go by.

Omada

A plate of food from Omada restaurant, Adelaide.

Smaller $8–$38, Larger $22–$72

At Omada, you’ll find classic Greek dishes with a contemporary twist. All of your favourite Greek restaurant dishes are here: saganaki with spiced honey, chargrilled octopus with salsa, chicken souvlaki and, of course, slow-cooked lamb. Much of the cooking centres around the wood oven and coal grill. It’s good food, a sharp fit-out and a cool, welcoming vibe. It’s the perfect place to gather around the table to eat, drink and enjoy time with friends.

Esmay

An elegant dessert from restaurant Esmay, Adelaide.

A la carte $5–$80, Tasting Menu $95

We’re lucky that Alanna Sapwell-Stone chose Adelaide as the home for her latest venture. The beautiful Esmay is at the site of the old Hackney Hotel, but the food is a far cry from the former pub offerings. Dishes are a little bit fancy but remain approachable, with a focus on seasonality, quality produce and local community. The space is relaxing with neutral tones and natural light. A thoughtful wine list and a competent floor team complete the experience.

Sodewa Saké Bar

Two plates of sushi from Soweda restaurant, Adelaide.

Snacks $6–$22, Sashimi and Sushi $25–$39, Mains $30–$49

It’s about time Adelaide had a dedicated saké bar, and now it does. Sodewa not only takes its saké seriously but also its food. I’m no saké aficionado, but I’ve always loved it. All of the sake is imported from Japan and it’s fun to work your way through the list and appreciate the different styles. On the food front, the sushi and sashimi are highlights, with super-fresh seafood, generously cut. There’s also a tempting selection of hot dishes, including gyoza, tempura and pork belly.
