Artists across every artform can now register for Adelaide Fringe 2027, with reduced fees and a season running from 19 February to 21 March.

Adelaide Fringe has opened registrations for its 2027 season, inviting artists from South Australia, interstate and overseas to take their place in Australia’s biggest arts festival.

The festival runs from 19 February to 21 March 2027, and artists working across every artform can register now through Adelaide Fringe’s Artist and Venue Registration platform.

Adelaide Fringe operates on an open-access model, meaning artists do not need to be programmed or invited to take part. Whether presenting a first show or a fiftieth, artists decide what they present, where they present it and how they build their season.

A record-setting 2026

The 2026 festival brought together 8,044 participants across 1,684 registered events and 562 venues. Of those events, 733 were South Australian, 585 interstate and 366 international, with 1,050 premieres across the program.

The 2026 line-up featured Japan’s spectacular Sumo show, The Shamrocks and Dave Gleeson, alongside artists at every stage of their careers. The program reflected 32 per cent LGBTQIA+ representation, 41 per cent female representation, 24 per cent culturally diverse representation and 13 per cent disability representation, with 113 First Nations creatives and 36 First Nations-led shows.

Artists keep more of their box office

From 2027, artists will keep more of their ticket sales. Adelaide Fringe has reduced its Inside Charge from 5 per cent to 4 per cent and locked in the lower rate for four years. Based on 2026 box office figures, the reduction is expected to return more than $250,000 to artists annually and more than $1 million over four years. The initiative is supported by CreateSA and the Government of South Australia.

What registration includes

Registering an event gives artists access to Adelaide Fringe support throughout the season, including marketing guidance, ticketing and customer service, accessibility booking support, promotional opportunities and hundreds of resources through the Artist and Venue Registration platform.

Artists can also opt in to the Schools Program and Honey Pot free of charge. Honey Pot connects artists with influential programmers, curators and buyers from across Australia and around the world. In 2026, those connections generated more than $7 million across more than 450 touring deals and presentation opportunities.

A newly redesigned Honey Pot website has been built to strengthen those industry connections for 2027.

Key dates

  • 30 October 2026: deadline to fully register for inclusion in the printed Official Adelaide Fringe Guide
  • 19 February to 21 March 2027: Adelaide Fringe 2027 season

Events registered after the print deadline will still be listed across Adelaide Fringe’s digital platforms.

Adelaide Fringe CEO Marc Carnes said artists should not wait for an invitation. “Open access means artists decide what they present, where they present it and how they build their season, whether it is their first show or their fiftieth. This is not just a place where careers start. Some of the biggest names in the world choose to perform at Adelaide Fringe alongside artists picking up a microphone for the very first time. That mix is what makes Adelaide Fringe Australia’s biggest arts festival.”
