The Broadway musical A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical will open at Adelaide’s Her Majesty’s Theatre from 23 May 2027, bringing the music and remarkable story of one of the world’s most successful performers to South Australian audiences.
Tickets go on sale to the general public from Friday 13 November, with waitlist members receiving early access from Monday 9 November.
Created in collaboration with Neil Diamond himself, the production tells the true story of how a kid from Brooklyn became one of America’s most beloved rock icons. With more than 140 million albums sold, Diamond’s catalogue includes enduring classics such as America, Forever in Blue Jeans and the incomparable Sweet Caroline.

The Adelaide season comes 50 years after Neil Diamond’s first Adelaide concert at Football Park in 1976. His deep connection with Australian audiences spans nearly half a century, with seven national tours between 1976 and 2015. His 1972 live album Hot August Night spent 29 weeks at number one in 1973 and 1974, making it the third-longest-charting album of its era in Australian music history.
South Australian talent on stage and behind the scenes
The production features an impressive lineup of South Australian talent. Adelaide’s own Terence Crawford, one of Australia’s most respected theatre and screen performers, plays the iconic role of Neil Diamond – Now. His credits include 1984, Girl from the North Country and Lord of the Rings: A Musical Tale.
Adelaide-born Alana Iannace, a Marryatville High School and Elder Conservatorium graduate, joins the cast fresh from Kimberly Akimbo. Fellow Elder Conservatorium graduate Sophie Tzioumis makes her professional theatre debut as Noise/Co Dance Captain, while Adelaide’s Jerome Javier serves as Swing, bringing experience from In The Heights, Jagged Little Pill and The Wedding Singer.

The Adelaide connection extends behind the scenes with Associate Producer Paul Marrollo and Company Manager Lauren Brumby both born and raised in Adelaide.
Broadway star Will Swenson leads the Australian cast in Melbourne in the role of Neil Diamond – Then, bringing his acclaimed, award-winning performance to Australia for the first time.
Award-winning creative team
The production is directed by Tony Award winner Michael Mayer (Spring Awakening, Hedwig and the Angry Inch), choreographed by Olivier Award winner Steven Hoggett (Once, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child), and written by four-time Academy Award nominee Anthony McCarten (Bohemian Rhapsody, The Two Popes).

Presented in Australia by Paul Dainty AO and TEG Dainty, Ken Davenport and Bob Gaudio, the production comes from the Australian producers of TINA – The Tina Turner Musical.
“I’ve had the great privilege of working with Neil as his Australian promoter for decades, and Australia has always had a heartfelt connection with Neil Diamond’s music,” said Paul Dainty AO. “The response in Melbourne has been remarkable with sell-out crowds night after night, and I know Adelaide audiences are going to be just as moved by this production.”
Previews commence on 23 May 2027 at Her Majesty’s Theatre.
