The Adelaide Central Market is your home for a local Easter, with more than 70 traders stocking the freshest produce and best treats, they’re open extended trading hours in the leadup to Easter weekend including until 7pm Easter Thursday. Here are some of our favourite items we’ve found this Easter at the Market.

Hot cross buns

With more than 40,000 hot cross buns expected to be sold at the Market in the leadup to Easter, you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to these delicious fruit buns. Dough are again making their signature sourdough buns, recently named one of the best in Australia by Delicious Magazine. Skala Bakery and Gourmet to Go are also stocking these popular beauties baked and delivered fresh daily.

Seafood

Easter is all about Seafood, and you’re spoilt for choice at the Market. Angelakis Bros and Cappo Seafood both have their displays full to the brim with a variety of fish, shellfish and other delicacies from the ocean. The newest addition to the Market is Fair Seafood, Australia’s first seafood retailer to offer 100% traceability from fisher to consumer. Pop into their stall to discover some rare and unique offerings that you’ll be hard pressed to find anywhere else! Stuck for inspiration? Chocolates, cakes and sweet treats

You can’t forget about chocolate! SA Icon Haigh’s has expanded their Hot Cross Bun chocolate range to include Dark Apple & Cinnamon and Milk Blueberry. The Old Lolly Shop has your traditional favourites including marshmallow bunnies, easter eggs and adorable gift packs for the little ones. Did someone say a 2kg Chocolate Bunny? The Adelaide Nut has them in a range of sizes including milk chocolate and marble! There’s also a huge range of cakes and sweets for the Easter table from Providore including whole cakes and cheesecakes.

Traditional treats

With the multicultural roots of the Market dating back generations, Lucia’s Fine Foods and Marino Meat and Food Store are again stocking a range of traditional Easter goods including Colomba di Pasqua, similar to a Panettone but in the shape of a dove to symbolise peace and renewal.

Spices

With their shelves overflowing with unique and custom spice blends, it’s hard to miss Gewürzhaus Spice Merchants. The Adelaide Central Market is open extended trading hours this Easter including 7am – 7pm Easter Thursday and 7am – 3pm Easter Saturday. If you’re visiting on Saturdays you can enjoy three hours free parking when you park at UPark Grote or UPark Andrew and validate your ticket at The Market Stall. *Offer not valid at UPark Central Market.
